Sagnik Nandy
Biography
Sagnik Nandy is an operating advisor and is the chief technology officer at DocuSign.
Throughout his career, Sagnik has worked with companies, products, systems, and organizations of varying sizes and stages and has scaled products from their early stages to remarkable levels of growth and success. Sagnik has managed the integration of significant acquisitions, overseen the development of critical and high throughput systems, and played a pivotal role in expanding organizations by nearly fifty times their initial size. Additionally, he has been instrumental in enabling product areas to diversify their portfolios and expand their market reach.
Before joining DocuSign, Sagnik was the president and chief development officer at Okta, a leading cloud-native security company that focuses on identity and access management. In this position he was responsible for leading engineering, product management, operations, design, and user research to deliver end-to-end solutions and capabilities for Okta’s Workforce Identity Cloud. Sagnik initially joined Okta as their chief technology officer, where he oversaw the engineering and business technology divisions of the company.
Sagnik's professional experience includes serving as Vice President of Engineering at Google. In this role, he oversaw several critical components of Google's core advertising business, including publisher advertising products, ads infrastructure, ads targeting, and bidding systems, all of which played a crucial role in the company’s growth and revenue. Furthermore, Sagnik played a crucial role in advancing Google's measurement and analytics solutions. He was a key figure in transforming multiple products, such as web and app analytics, marketing attribution, tag management, surveys, and data visualization from inception into market leaders.
In addition to his professional endeavors, Sagnik enjoys spending time with his wonderful wife and two constantly bickering sons. He and his wife are film enthusiasts, enjoy exploring new restaurants, and have recently embarked on the journey of crafting their own wine. Sagnik also attempts to read one book each month and is constantly seeking recommendations for his upcoming literary adventures.
Sagnik obtained his Bachelor's degree from the Birla Institute of Technology and Science (BITS), Pilani, and holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science and Engineering from UC San Diego, where he was the recipient of the CALIT2 Fellowship.
