Kim Caldbeck
Biography
Kim Caldbeck is an operating advisor at Bessemer and a seasoned marketer who specializes in B2C and B2B marketplaces. Her passion lies in supporting mission-driven tech companies in attaining product-market fit and scaling their go-to-market strategies and teams. Kim has worked with notable companies such as Coursera, Facebook/Meta, and Apple.
In her most recent role as the Chief Marketing Officer at Coursera, Kim was instrumental in shaping the brand, optimizing the monetization model, launching, and expanding enterprise and degree business segments worldwide, guiding the team through cultural shifts and crises, and supporting the company through its IPO. During her 5 years as CMO, Coursera's revenue grew 5x from $95M in 2017 to >$500M in 2022.
Prior to Coursera, Kim dedicated five years to Facebook, where she initiated brand and performance consumer marketing campaigns in over 60 markets and assisted advertisers in brand building. Her previous experience also includes iPhone app marketing at Apple, brand consulting at Landor, and private label development for national retailers at Daymon Worldwide.
Kim holds an undergraduate degree from Harvard University and an M.B.A. from Stanford Graduate School of Business. She is currently advising several health-tech companies and recently joined the board of the ed-tech company, Interplay Learning. In her free time, Kim is running around with her entrepreneur husband, three kids, and dog and loves to exercise, travel, and try new restaurants.
